Fireflies!
A couple weeks ago I was backing up files to my external hard drive. I turned off the light and noticed the hard drive was blinking every now and then - a blue-green flash of light.
Over on the window, a firefly answered with it's own flashing code.
So this week, let's head outside after dark to watch the fireflies.
Try to capture their colors and
flash
patterns as they zip through the sky.
You can get involved with citizen science projects at
Firefly Watch or if you live in Utah and the western US, check out this
Firefly Citizen Science Project.
Remember to take your sketchbook or journal with unlined
pages, something to draw and write with, and something to add color ~
watercolors, colored pencils, crayons, or markers.
